HoLEP: Laser surgery for prostate enlargement

HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) is an advanced surgical technique that uses laser energy to remove prostate tissue obstructing urine flow, regardless of prostate size. It is considered the worldwide reference treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

An endoscope with a laser fiber is introduced through the urethra, without external incisions. The Holmium laser separates the obstructive prostate tissue from its capsule with millimetric precision. The tissue is removed while the healthy capsule remains intact, restoring a wide and lasting urinary flow.

Men with lower urinary tract symptoms due to prostate enlargement: weak stream, difficulty starting, dribbling, incomplete emptying, urgency, or nocturia. Ideal for medium and large prostates, and suitable even for patients on anticoagulant therapy.
